La Casa de Francisca

My neighborhood is close to the southern edge of Granada and seems to be where a lot of larger residential areas are. My house is on a street called Calle Las Flores, which is off the Main Street Calle Camino De Ronda. It's about 15 minutes from the school and 10 minutes from the post office, so as you can tell I don't live in the center of town. My apartment is on a small street that has a small market, a peluquería, other apartments, and is across the street from a cute little colorfully, painted building.

I maybe somewhat far from the school however there are so many other things closer to where I live. I'll start out by my favorite place near me- the park. There's two parks by my house, there's Parque Lorca y Parque de las Ciencias. Out of the two I like Parque Lorca more, it's so pretty with all the fountains and greenery. I love going there to jog or just sit and descansar! The other park is the biggest park in Granada which is cool. I noticed this is the park that most kids play soccer at and people have picnics because it's more spacious and less maize like than Lorca. Also near the parks they're are so many gimnasios. I just feel like this side of town seems to be the fitness area.

As I stroll along different paths along my house, I notice there are many little tiendas and bars. Right behind where I live is the Centro Comercial Neptuno and a little further down, close by, is a Mercadona which is nice because I can buy all my necessities in that one store.

I really love where I live because the night life is so great. There's a few discotecas near by and so many tapa bars close by that everyone is out at night in this area. Even right after siesta it's busy because all the people who work out are in the park or going to the gym. I really love my barrio because I never need to wander to far for anything....except maybe the Al-Hambra.

Adios,
Lana
