Although I've been surprised that very few people seem to ride their bikes to work, I am impressed with how many motos carry two, sometimes three people.
There is also a lot of diverse graffiti in my neighborhood. These are some of my favorites.
The graffiti here says "Time is not gold, gold has no value" and this spot is usually where teenagers hang out in the afternoon/ evening.
The architecture of the buildings vary as well. Some seem older and even abandoned while others are modern and attended to.
This doorway is always open. I wonder why? The tile inside is nice.
This is a paper store I pass every day to and from class that reminds me of Paper Source. Their door is usually open and I can see women doing crafts around a round table inside.
This parking garage must be challenging for cars to enter and exit from because the street outside it is very narrow. On my way to class, three times just this week I have seen a man who I assume works in the garage pull out this woman's car for her and then get out. This causes a mini moto jam which I weave through hurriedly.
On Friday, I walked home from school taking the street one over from mine instead. I found this museum/ art gallery/ garden called Cuarto Real de Santo Domingo. It was very crowded with people dressed nicely but entry was free.
This was one of my favorite paintings on display by Juan Vida called Pensamiento (2005).
Finally my hunt for a Mexican (mi tipo favorito de comida) restaurant is over! Chile Grande is only two blocks away from my apartment but in a direction I had never ventured before! I will be going here very soon.Eso es todo por ahora!
