My host family's casa is in a wonderful location that is perfect for a student my age.
here is a map of my neighborhood |
It is a happening place full of many businesses from an gelato shop to Granada's biggest public park.
I live in a nine floor apartment building with a great view of Granada biggest and busiest road, Camino de Ronda.
This is my building see from across Camino de Ronda |

Across the street there is a popular gym, YO10, and an nice outside hangout spot
YO10!
This is my host brothers favorite bar, they have amazing tapas
The streets are busiest later at night especially on Friday and Saturday but people can be heard out late into the early hours of the morning every day.
Also located in close proximity to my apartment building is Parque García Lorca. It is the largest public park in Granada. It is stunningly beautiful and great for taking walks and letting off steam.
Granada is an amazing city and I live in a fantastic and diverse neighborhood. I continue to learn and explore everyday. I can't wait to look back at the end of my time here and think about how much more I have discovered.
P.S. an interesting fact about my neighborhood is that it seems to be base off of Camino de Ronda. However, unlike most of the main streets I have encountered, the street does not run along cardinal directions. Instead it runs slightly off of northwest to southeast. This really messed with my sense of direction until I realized what was going on.
AH my favorite bar too! They have the best tapas - thanks to Carlos for showing us!!
