Comida de mi familia en Espana

This weekend was a very exciting weekend for my homestay family.  They have a good friend who birthday was this weekend, so they invited me out with them.  With that being said, we ate out and the kids were hanging out with their friend's kids. Our Sunday was pretty relaxed, so with that, so was our food haha.

My homestay mom decided not to cook because she had a long night, but my dad was able to.  Since my family woke up late, I decided to document the dinner.

My homestay dad is pretty chilled when it comes to cooking.  He or my mom here goes shopping once a week to the super market and once every week to week and a half for the grocery store.  My homestay dad favorite meal includes huevo revuelto (scambled eggs) with salchicha de pollo and some croquetas.  I began to like it after the first few times its been offered because I love breakfast, and its a breakfast food.  I prefer to have it with arroz.

One thing I noticed they do differently is the style they cooked their food here. We cook scrambled eggs in the states, but here, they cook it with the meat. They also salt the pan instead of the food.

There are times where my family cook some good food now.  When they have gatherings or if its a holiday.  They usually serve wine or beer with these types of meals.

These two dishes are my favorite they served me, but my all time favorite that I wasn't able to take a photo of is spaghetti with squid ink! It was so different, but was very delicious. It had salmon also in it, and that just made it even better.
