Espana fashion

Fashion is a huge area of concern in my home of america  but in my opinion it is much more important here. When I first received noticed about my acceptance to the study abroad program I instantly thought to myself "you're going to need a lot of khaki shorts, and short sleeve polos" in America this was the way I felt most comfortable dressing during the summer months. I also thought that worldwide it would be a norm to wear gym shorts outside because they are comfortable (boy was I wrong). When I wear gym shorts outside, in most cases I am the only guy wearing them, compared to in Ann arbor where it is extremely common. Alot of Spanish people tend to wear brighter clothes, however they still make sure their outfits match. Alot of young people my age here dress in buisness casual clothing, compared to in Ann arbor where we often throw on a sweatshirt and Jeans to walk around campus.. when I wear this type of outfit aqui, sometimes I feel out of place. However it is very interesting that at night the girls here dress very similar to the girls in America. When going out with their Amigas alot of chicas wear tight skirts and heels, which is very similar to how the chicas in America dress during night parties. However when chicos here party they dress in buisness casual which is alot different than in america where most guys just wear jeans and a shirt. The hair here is also very interesting to me! I have noticed that the hairstyle for males here is very similar to the way that alot of black males where theirs in America. A common hairstyle here is called a "fade" which is when the top of the hair remains at a fairly decent length, and the sides are cut lower which makes it looks as if its "fading" away. I also noticed that alot of futbol players here always where fades here. For me I have noticed that these styles are generally the same throughout Spain, but the more I see, the more differences I expect to notice!

I am the type of person that truly loves kids, so I was hoping that the children here would be very social, and they were. Although there is a language barrier between us, it is not uncommon for me to run into a kid kicking a soccer ball, and eventually join them. They act very personable towards me, it is very interesting to see how quick they are to allow a stranger to join them in their game! But I wonder is the country of spain just more open minded in general. Por ejemplo here we greet each other with kisses, but in america we simply shake hands.. and Ive noticed for me at least, its easier to connect with someone with a kiss, in comparison to a professional handshake all the time
